Microsoft is looking for a Director, Security Compete Product Marketing. This product marketing leadership role offers a rare combination of a mission driven goal in security, with a significant opportunity to operate at the leading edge of security technology, to build industry leadership, and to drive revenue growth. The role is accountable for market analysis of the security industry.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in End-to-end / diverse marketing experiences, including product marketing.
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in End-to-end / diverse marketing experiences, including product marketing.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a large organization and with senior executives.
  • Experience in security solutions and/or adjacent enterprise SaaS categories

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a deep understanding and point of view on competing offers.
  • Partner with marketing and product leaders to monitor and analyze security market trends and customer needs across key categories including threat protection, posture management, data security, cloud security, identity and generative AI.
  • Partner with sales, finance, data sciences and research to derive win/loss analysis, insights, and key actions/readiness to help Microsoft win in a number of different security categories.
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy for winning vs. key vendors, analyzing all elements including marketing, Go to Market (GTM), sales and product. Influence key leaders in each area as needed to ensure Microsoft is a compelling offer for customers.
  • Develop key business insights and metrics related to strategy, communicating effectively in executive leadership forums.
  • Craft compelling messaging and content ranging all levels of technical aptitude.
  • Ensure successful execution via all channels, at events, online, and via our sales teams and partners.
  • Deliver our story directly, and via senior spokespeople to engage customers and influentials.
  • Develop a diverse inclusive team of product marketing managers.
  • Provide manager support to the team, focusing investments and facilitating prioritization to drive impact.
  • Participate and lead key initiatives related to culture and strategy at the division level.
