Overview

We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our Microsoft 365 Copilot Outbound and events marketing team as a people manager and Director of Product Marketing for the Modern Work and Business Applications (MWBA) businesses. The candidate will possess a combination of analytical skills, operational management, content strategy and keen understanding of how to execute leveraging Microsoft’s marketing engines. This candidate should also have a strong understanding of the generative AI market and a strategic point of view on how to operationalize and execute Copilot’s differentiated value to commercial customers across key PR moments and events.

This role requires exceptional communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to work across organizations to bring together different workstreams in service of landing impactful PR moments and events for Modern Work and Business Applications. This candidate will require a broad level of understanding across product marketing from product strategy to content creation and marketing execution. This candidate will also need to demonstrate leadership and people management skills managing a team of product marketers.

Microsoft 365 Copilot integrates large language models (LLMs) with the Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to provide real-time intelligent assistance helping users enhance their creativity, productivity, and skills by generating content, summarizing information, and offering suggestions. Notable customers using Microsoft 365 Copilot include Visa, BP, Honda, Pfizer, and Chevron.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • Ability to synthesize different sources of information to uncover insights and determine next priority actions to drive the business forward.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to bring together stakeholders from various parts of the organization to drive clarity towards a single mission or purpose.
  • Skilled operator with the ability to perform well in a team environment and manage multiple deadline-driven projects.
  • Collaboration and cross-functional teamwork skills, with experience working closely with product marketing, GTM, PR, and integrated marketing teams.
  • Experience in developing and executing content marketing assets and guiding teams on consistent and high-quality content development based on product messaging and positioning strategies.
  • Ability to engage with various executive stakeholders to drive conversations and decision making forward in service of meeting key moment and event deadlines and opportunities.
  • Creative problem solver with drive and strategic acumen to identify solutions and opportunities for business growth across key moments and events

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Partner across MWBA product marketing, PR, GTM and the GDC to orchestrate and lead strategy for high impact moments and events in service of making Copilot a daily habit for our customers and continuing to establish Microsoft as the leader in the future of work.
  • Accountable for end to end content and strategy alignment across messaging and key deliverables ensuring all key assets are on strategy, include consistent messaging and meet the highest quality bar.
  • Lead a healthy, high performing team of individuals leveraging the model, coach, care framework for strong leadership.
  • Support the development of key content strategy asset development including MPFs, CSA narratives and pitch decks to inform field enablement efforts and integrated marketing content development.
  • Lead partnership between product marketing and GDC including quarterly marketing briefings and key moment and event execution plans.
  • Develop and execute a strong rhythm of business for key moments and events that insures inclusive and strategy planning and execution across engineering, product marketing, PR, GTM and GDC stakeholders.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of key processes including news review (bi-annual), annual content bill of materials for Modern Work and Business Applications including integration with Halo content strategy.
