In the Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) Customer Security and Trust (CST) team, we work with each other, and with many different partners internal and external to Microsoft to spearhead cybersecurity policies globally, to protect Microsoft Customers and defend the global Digital Ecosystem. We focus aggressively on AI and build engineering solutions to speed up, scale, and transform our work.
The Cybersecurity & Trust Engineering (CSTE) team in CST is the central driving force of Engineering and Cybersecurity initiatives for CST and the Microsoft CELA department. The Engineering Excellence (EE) function within CSTE is entrusted with dual essential missions. The first is to instill cohesion, ensure measurable transparency, and uphold accountability across all Engineering and Cybersecurity efforts within CELA, thus propelling Microsoft's Security-First commitment, enhancing our security framework, seeking engineering efficiencies and synergies, and cultivating talent development. The second mission involves EE leading the strategic direction and implementation of services, features, and products that enrich Developer (DevOps) Experiences, underscored by a rigorous commitment to best practices and the forward-thinking integration of AI and other technological advancements
The CSTE EE function is actively seeking a Principal Product Manager, Engineering Excellence for Cybersecurity, Privacy, Resiliency, and Responsible AI. The candidate will have proven experience with MS Azure, software, and quality engineering disciplines. The candidate will be a dedicated proponent of data-driven transformation, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, integrity, and accountability. This individual will possess the insight to understand business functions and requirements, effectively translating them into innovative working applications while adeptly managing competing priorities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps or similar agile toolset
Other Qualifications:
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance
- 2+ years of experience with PowerBI
- 3+ years’ combined experiences total in cybersecurity, privacy, resiliency, and AI development
- 5+ years’ experience with highly complex projects, responsible for activities related to requirement gathering, distilling highly complex business requirements, and writing product features that would meet user needs
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Product Owner Certifications
- Design skills: creating accessible and user-centric layout, familiarity with UX designs, UX tools such as Figma
- Understanding basic AI concepts (LLM’s, ML, prompt Engineering, etc.)
- Proactiveness; a positive outlook and approach to change management
- Experience with developing and implementing organizational frameworks, standards, and processes
- Ability to influence others inside and outside of direct team
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Analysis of Customer and Market Signals: Demonstrates and builds experiences across multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) across divisional boundaries. Leads process defining problems and incubating solutions for a team or organization. Understands the broader ecosystem of Microsoft products and where to leverage capabilities and functionalities across the ecosystem.
- Product/Service Development: Owns and drives the roadmap for the multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) they own across divisional boundaries. Defin and drive long-term product vision and strategy. Prioritizes the backlog, works with Software Engineering (SWE) to align on tradeoffs for the multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) they own across divisional boundaries, and ensures dependencies are identified and accounted for.
- Product/Service Performance: Builds trust with a targeted selection of customers across sectors. Orchestrates a line of communication with complex and advanced customers to capture feedback and insights through the product development lifecycle. Ensures the vision is aligned with customer goals. Leads customer communities and customer engagement programs. Leverage data analytics, customer insights, and key performance indicators to inform product decisions and measure success.
- Multidisciplinary Perspective and Expertise: Lead a thorough analysis of cybersecurity, privacy, resiliency, and responsible AI requirements to establish a comprehensive set of “non-functional engineering standards” for CST and CELA engineering solutions. Direct a precise strategy to aid the adoption of these standards, including initial demonstrations, implementation guides developed in collaboration with CSTE / CELA architects and engineering leads, pilot initiatives, training, and targeted communications.
- End-to-End Ownership: Set priorities, craft roadmaps, and execute ownership to drive the integration of “non-functional standards” throughout the product lifecycle of CST and CELA engineering solutions, from product inception to launch, and during ongoing enhancement phases. Manage and prioritize a portfolio of tasks and projects with efficiency.
- Engineering Delivery: Develop a deep technical expertise in interdisciplinary areas such as cybersecurity, privacy engineering, and AI engineering. Supervise Scrum Masters/Technical Program Managers and collaborate with engineering leaders to convert “non-functional standards” into actionable engineering features. Drive detailed designs, enforce ADO records and other engineering best practices, uphold engineering best practices, analyze engineering metrics, and conduct regular business and engineering reviews and evaluations.
- Matrix Engagement: Utilize lessons learned and capitalize on opportunities to expedite progress by building partnerships across Engineering and Product Management teams. Communicate challenges promptly and effectively to mitigate potential impacts on business timelines.
