Overview

The Trust Experience and Compliance (TEC) team’s mission is to make Windows the most trusted platform for your business and life. The Windows Compliance Platform team within TEC is transforming what compliance means to Windows, Microsoft, and our customers. This role will have the opportunity to re-envision what a modern, AI driven, compliance platform should be for engineering teams at Microsoft and our commercial customers and partners. This team is on the forefront, leading and orchestrating efforts across various regulatory domains to ensure trusted experiences for our customers, partners, and developers within Windows and beyond. You will be leveraging TEC’s unique position to understand what tooling, services, technology etc. needs to be built, leveraged, or discarded to meet the objectives of the business and the needs of our customers.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirit Senior Technical Program Manager with solid Product and/or Program Management expertise to help dream and execute on the future of compliance. AI is already a big part of our story and we need some who can fearlessly infuse AI deeper into our compliance strategy.


Global regulations are increasing, and the growing cost of compliance is no longer sustainable and new solutions are required to address this fast-moving need. We are a high performing team with big aspirations to drive new value, addressing a major pain point for Microsoft and Microsoft’s customers. This is a position that will require cross-team collaboration, influence, technical prowess, strong communication, and a proactive mindset for building solutions in a complex space.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in a Technical Program Management or Engineering role.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Experience building, shipping, and iterating on customer facing experiences including AI experiences.
  • Experience driving holistic program approach including, specs, working with engineering, and delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer listening and requirement gathering.
  • Comfortable diving deep into complex architectural landscapes and ability to quickly understand technical and programmatic concepts, flows, and design.
  • Effective communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Approach all work with a growth mindset, customer obsession, and relentless curiosity.
  • Drive for results that align with organizational priorities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without authority to reach desired outcomes.
  • Experience identifying technical needs and gaps and clearly articulating and prioritizing for program stakeholders.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders, customers, and peers.
  • Identify, architect, and deliver innovative solutions that will eliminate unnecessary compliance cost to engineering.
  • Design a compliance platform that will “shift-left” in the software development lifecycle and will allow compliance readiness with evidence to be tracked and measured efficiently and holistically.
  • Build a scalable and sustainable approach for new regulations that are onboarding onto the platform.
  • Evaluate AI technologies and compliance systems across Microsoft to determine what should be leveraged.
