Overview

In this role, Senior Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for Vietnam & Thailand supplier quality management and drive supply base towards Best-in-Class Manufacturing practices with high quality products. This role will have opportunity to interact with all Microsoft cutting edge Surface products lines and XBOX.

To be successful in this position, the individual expected to manage contract manufacturer quality KPIs and work collaboratively with In-region peer groups across the organization, which include but not limited to Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Supplier Quality Engineering team. Ability to communicates status with supplier management team, peers, clients and other stakeholders are essential. Drive quickly and resolves issues that impede business progress.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 7+ years experience in a manufacturing environment/repair
    • OR Master's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in a manufacturing environment /repair OR 7+ years equivalent experience
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Experience directly managing and leveraging supplier in component quality management include operation, engineering, quality and compliance

  • Quality Control Techniques: Knowledge of quality control techniques, statistics, and methodologies
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Must be effective communications skills that transient across different levels in the organization which include peer, support function and higher management are essential.
  • In addition to effective management skills, the successful candidate will need to have the following attributes:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 9+ years experience in a manufacturing environment/repair
    • OR Master's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
    • OR Doctorate in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in a manufacturing environment/repair OR 9+ years equivalent experience.
  • Patent or track record of engineering excellency.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant certifications such as ISO, ASQ, or APQP are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain supplier quality agreements and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leveraging supplier to implement corrective actions for quality-related issues.
  • Monitor supplier progress, conduct audit and provide regular status reports of supplier performance.
  • Orchestrate and leverage supplier to investigate and resolve complaints regarding component quality issues.
  • Develop and conduct supplier quality training for internal departments and external suppliers.
  • Drive clear and accurate communications and recommendations to peers and senior management by distilling complex technical challenges, outlining options, and providing supporting data.
