Overview

The reinvention of business processes is a growth engine for Microsoft cloud services. The mission of Microsoft Business Applications is to help our customers digitally transform their businesses to drive new sources of revenue, create new and engaging ways to serve their customers, and to transform the way in which their business runs to drive new levels of profitability for their organization.

You manage functional business process and technical workload within the Microsoft Business Applications enterprise sales organization working with our most important customers. You play a key role in the total sales cycle by helping them with their end-to-end business transformation needs through envisioning, designing and demonstrating solutions mapped to business value within the area of your workload expertise. Executing with excellence you will collaborate across the sales opportunity journey with the Business Applications sales team, Microsoft partners and ISVs, other Technical Specialists and our Customer Success team. You will additionally assist the Microsoft Business Applications Sales Executive in identifying, driving and successfully landing pipeline and customer solutions for your assigned category.

As a Senior Technology Specialist – Business Applications you will specialize in one of the following five categories: Customer Experience, Finance/Operations, Low-Code, Customer Service, Supply Chain, depending on your experience.

We are currently looking for Senior Technology Specialist - Business Applications professionals to join our teams across various business groups, for varying customer sizes, in our enterprise, regulated, and partner services organizations. By applying to this role, you will be considered for multiple opportunities within Microsoft across the United States including locations beyond where the role is posted. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home. Travel percentages will very according to role.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Technical pre-sales or Technology consulting experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP or similar software-as-a-service, cloud-based business applications.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management. .
  • Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Business Applications Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
  • Deep understanding of business solutions/line of business workload expertise by leveraging category application (Customer Experience, Finance & Ops, Low- Code, Customer Service, or Supply Chain) experience in one or more of the following: Sales, Marketing, Service, Supply Chain, and/or Finance and how these solutions help customers achieve their desired business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of commercial cloud offerings (Microsoft’s cloud platform and/or knowledge of other business applications solutions and related ecosystems).
  • Applicable workload/line of business expertise with one or more of the following: technical and business process presales, post-sales consulting or relevant company/customer IT application implementation or management.
  • Prior work experience:
    • Driving and designing a solution strategy as part of the overall opportunity lifecycle.
    • Identifying, driving and successfully landing pipeline and customer solutions in collaboration with sales leaders and team members
    • Extensive collaboration with technical pursuit teams designing cloud-based customer solutions.
    • Success working with customers/stakeholders in presales or consulting engagements related to business applications workloads.
    • Success demonstrating differentiated solution value and advantage.
    • Delivering customer-facing technical workload demonstrations to enterprise decision makers.
Technology Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
Technology Specialists IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

  • Participate in discovery sessions in each opportunity, yielding output of customer-agreed business challenges and win themes prioritized with business value.
  • Leverage workload expertise to build effective customer-centric solution assessments and designs based on business value and deliver compelling presentations to improve win rates.

Strategic Proactive Seller

  • Maximize deal execution through the customer journey as a strategic, proactive seller to meet/exceed category revenue targets.
  • Team with Business Applications - Sales Executives to uncover, identify and engage opportunities to drive category performance.
  • Build positive Business Decision Maker (BDM)/CxO connections/engagements across category-specific roles with business value alignment by targeted personas.
