The Security Identity and Access Management (IAM) Protect team manages Azure tenants for all Microsoft Cloud. We are looking to hire a Sr. Security Engineering Manager that will join our mission of protecting Microsoft Cloud by building and operating security services that will enforce security policies across thousands of services. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of security at Microsoft and leveraging your insights to protect Microsoft services and customers, while guiding and leading a group of skilled security engineers.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years professional software development with the following C#/C++, KQL, Python, Azure Synapse
  • 8+ years of professional experience designing, building, and running Azure Cloud Services on a large scale
  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring and managing teams of security / site reliability / software engineers.
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as communication skills both verbal and written. We are a distributed team so we’re extra mindful about communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand a team of engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions, while promoting a growth mindset, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate leadership through the Model-Coach-Care approach.
  • Oversee the identification of dependencies and the creation of architecture and design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
  • Guide the engineering team through all stages of development, including testing, release, monitoring, and live site operations.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, design, code reviews, development, quality assurance, and live site management.
  • Communicate progress, risks, issues, and achievements clearly with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Managers and Product Managers on cross-team initiatives as necessary.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top-tier talent.
  • Cultivate a healthy and inclusive team environment.
  • Mentor team members to support their personal and professional growth.
