Microsoft's Windows Silicon & Systems Integration team (WSSI) is on a journey to deliver iconic end-to-end products across hardware, software, and services that people love and use every day. The Principal Technical Program Manager - SoC will help us further drive our investments in both Silicon, Hardware and Software to enable the next generation of Windows platforms. This position will play a key role in bringing together multiple Microsoft technologies, Silicon on Chip (SoC) and Windows to enable new experiences for our customers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years' experience in a technical product management role developing software-integrated hardware products (devices).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product development.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects with large-scale engineering program management or related experience, with the ability to lead, drive change and influence without authority across groups.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)
  • A proven ability to manage schedules, concisely frame problems, design simple solutions and make decisions based on data and metrics.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-company with key internal and external partner teams to enable Windows and applications to take advantage of SoC capabilities to deliver the best experiences possible. There technology areas include Security, AI (Neural Processing Unit - NPU), Media (Streaming) , Graphics and Central Processing Units (GPU and CPU)
  • Help define and drive feature differentiation that will enable next experiences for our customers.
  • Partners with product and the engineering teams, both internal and external , to define the program(s) goals and prioritization for the multiple feature areas across divisional boundaries.
  • Help manage the overall project schedule and milestones across the various teams across Microsoft.
  • Constantly innovate and add value to our business strategy and product roadmap.
