This position reports directly to the Corporate Vice President leading STCA.
Location: Suzhou or Beijing, China
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in applied research or product development.
- 5+ years of management experience leading and growing applied science teams.
- Proven track record of recruiting and nurturing the talent of research, applied science, or data science.
- Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality products and services.
- Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- A passion for innovation and user experience.
- Ability to work effectively with executives and across teams.
- Experience with Microsoft productivity products is a plus.
- Experience working with global R&D teams is a plus.
- Expereince working in China is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the STCA applied science team across multiple product areas.
- Represent STCA on the global research council of the Experiences + Devices (E+D) Division.
- Drive AI innovation across STCA product areas.
- Enhance productivity through AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with Development, Program Management, and Design teams to build innovative and high-quality products that delight customers and users.
- Recruit and build a strong team of outstanding applied and data scientists.
- Motivate and develop team members, supporting their career growth.
- Exemplify Microsoft values and culture.
