The Microsoft Federal organization was established to address the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). As a Cloud Solution Architect – Cybersecurity Operations and Intelligence you will be directly engaging with senior cybersecurity leaders and stakeholders. This is a customer facing role with a proactive threat-focused mission to provide dedicated partnership in operationalizing intelligence, enabling government-wide secured maneuverability and response times faster than the adversary to reduce, remediate, and eliminate cyber risks. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cyber Threat Intelligence or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4 + years of experience in Cybersecurity incident handling and/or cybersecurity operations
- 2 + years of cyber threat intelligence processing and analysis within a security operations environment supporting threat hunting, anomaly detection, and incident response activities
Other Requirements
The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
Clearance Verification:
This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
Cloud Screening:
Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in delivering comprehensive briefings and reports to senior cybersecurity executives and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex cybersecurity concepts in alignment with their organizational mission and goals
- Experience with reviewing Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) reports and providing actionable guidance for Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts to improve detection analytics.
- Certification in one or more of the following cybersecurity disciplines: Microsoft security technology, Cloud Security, Incident Response, Offensive Security, Cyber Threat Intelligence.
Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Orchestrate and lead Microsoft Federal customer partnerships in support of achieving cybersecurity mission objectives.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Microsoft cybersecurity and threat intelligence organizations on behalf of Microsoft customers for near-real-time threat intelligence dissemination.
- Assist customers in operationalizing cyber threat intelligence to respond to and prevent cybersecurity incidents.
- Proactively partner with Microsoft customers to identify areas where their incident response communications can be improved to enable swift response actions when necessary
- Share knowledge with the Microsoft security community through presentations, active leadership, technical papers, blogs and other distribution methods to contribute to the broader cybersecurity ecosystem.
- Collaborate with external and internal cybersecurity stakeholders and coordinate and conduct information sharing sessions to reduce the time to detect and time to respond during cybersecurity investigations.
- Conduct routine cybersecurity update briefings for Microsoft Federal leadership during normal operations and oversee crisis response communications in the event of cybersecurity incidents.
- Author and contribute to cybersecurity guidance for internal Microsoft field teams during cybersecurity incidents. Including talking points, briefing materials, and technical overviews of threat actor activity.
- Author technical mitigation guidance for Microsoft customers to remediate risks identified in cyber threat intelligence reporting or through incident response operations.
Technical
- Enterprise Incident Response (IR) experience using industry security solutions and Microsoft technologies that include but are not limited to Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft XDR, and Defender for Cloud.
- Managed proactive hunt analytics, notifications, and threat operations management.
- Facilitate bi-directional threat intelligence sharing and operationalize acquired tools/capabilities to drive ROI.
- Build analytics and conduct cyber operations, including dashboards, playbooks, and reports.
- Organize and deliver cyber threat intelligence driven table-top exercises and participate in round table discussions with Microsoft and cross-agency teams.
- Provide threat briefs and operationalize new/advanced Microsoft capabilities.
- Advocate for security product parity and engage with engineering and marketing teams to address cybersecurity risk and product feature requests.
- Identify high-risk business losses and contribute to security community leadership.
