The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

Do you want to build a cutting-edge highly scalable data & analytics platform using the latest technologies such as Azure Synapse, Lakehouse, Azure Event Grid, Kusto, SQL Server, Power BI, Cosmos DB and Azure Databricks? Are you interested in guiding key business decisions around Microsoft Cloud (Azure) customer bases? We are looking for experienced individuals who would be energized by helping us scale our data & analytics platform to enable data-driven decision making. The Digital Enablement and Innovation group builds and maintains the platform that delivers accessible data to power real time decision-making for the CSCP organization.

We are looking for Software Engineer II that will be part of a team building an intelligent data-driven, near real time supply chain data processing platform that provides end to end visibility into Capacity Planning, Supply Chain and infrastructure deployment. This team uses the latest technologies like Synapse, Spark and more to provide insights into potential risks, build frameworks that help in identifying root causes and proactively suggest remediation plans that will help in continuous optimization, cost savings and improve profitability in Azure Capacity management and planning.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with data aggregation platforms based on technologies such as Synapse, SQL, Azure Data Lake, Spark, Hadoop, CosmosDB, etc.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS or GCP)

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an engineering development role delivering high-scale on-line or cloud services
  • Experience developing scalable data ingestion and transformation systems in batch and near real time environments

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
