Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. ​​Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.​

​​Cosmos is Microsoft’s Data Analytics Platform that enables data engineers and data scientists across all Microsoft teams to extract intelligence from structured and unstructured data at hyper-scale and low cost. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive the vision, roadmap, and KPIs for the Cosmos Platform microservices. In our team, you will experience:

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in product management for the underlying platform of a commercial technology product.
  • 5+ years of Project Management skills with experience managing large-scale, complex projects with cross-functional teams.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
    • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud computing, enterprise software development, engineering, and operations at scale.
  • Deep expertise and Hands-on experience with Cloud Native Services, Yarn, Container Technologies.
  • Experience partnering closely with internal and external customers and partners.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.

Responsibilities

  • ​​Define and drive the product functionality, roadmap and priorities for the Cosmos Platform.
  • Conduct customer research to identify customer needs, pain points, and opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Write compelling product and technical specifications that outline customer needs and product requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and partner teams to ensure successful product development.
  • Measure and evaluate product performance and customer feedback using effective telemetry and analytics tools. Iterate on product features based on data and insights.
  • Define and drive business and product Key Performance Indicator's (KPIs) and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
