Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure that supports this growth, including AI. CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world-class organization.

The CSCP organization oversees traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, and Deliver, while also managing supportability (spares), decommissioning, and the disposition of data center assets worldwide. We provide the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's more than 200 online businesses, including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure comprises a vast global portfolio of over 200 data centers, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Sustainability & Security (CS4) organization within CSCP manages the sourcing and supply of IT hardware for these data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensure reliable, on-time performance, optimized costs, and the prevention of urgent, unplanned investments.
