Overview

The Creator & Fandom team within Microsoft’s Marketing Experiences Social and Creative organization is looking for a Creator Copywriter – Creator & Fandom to help bring our creator programs to life. This role blends creative writing with platform fluency, helping Microsoft’s commercial brands show up in more human, resonant ways across social. In this role, you will understand creators, understand business audiences, and write across formats -- from a TikTok caption to a thought leadership post to an effective brief. In this role, you will help shape how we engage developers, IT pros, and business decision-makers through creator-led storytelling.

Job Location: The primary location for this position is Redmond, WA. Additionally, there are three other locations where this role may be based. Candidates who do not reside in one of these four areas will be relocated to Redmond.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field AND 1+ year(s) integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in copywriting, content strategy, or creator marketing.
  • 1+ year(s) experience writing in different voices for different creators, channels, and audiences.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in distilling technical or enterprise topics into accessible, engaging copy.
  • 1+ year(s) experience, supported by a portfolio and social media presence that demonstrate end-to-end content creation capabilities and proven social engagement experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • A portfolio of social-first writing, especially in partnership with creators or brands.
  • Understanding of how creators communicate across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

Integrated Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Write platform-native copy for creator campaigns, including scripts, captions, post copy, and voiceover.
  • Collaborate with creators to refine messaging and help shape their delivery while maintaining authenticity.
  • Support the development of campaign concepts, creative briefs, and content strategy.
  • Translate complex B2B (business-to-business) ideas into language that’s clear, engaging, and social-first.
  • Collaborate with marketing, social, and product teams to ensure alignment across touchpoints.
  • Contribute to the tone and voice of creator and fandom content across Microsoft commercial brands.
  • Create end to end content across a variety of asset types, but principally video for social media
