Overview

The Consumer Integrated Marketing team at Microsoft is seeking a Creative Director to elevate our creative and strategic thinking across our portfolio of brands.

The Creative Director will be responsible for ideating, leading and evolving Microsoft’s digital creative experiences with a focus on breakthrough storytelling, tied to a red thread into strategic insights.

The Creative Director is responsible for being the thought leader of modern, digital-first storytelling, and interpreting those into creative marketing. This role will focus on establishing the underlying creative idea for these moments, and partner with cross-functional creative and channel leads, as well as external creative agencies, to bring it to life.

This role supports Microsoft Copilot (AI companion), Surface devices, M365 Copilot, Windows, Edge and Bing, across launch moments and marketing beats across our Owned & Operated channels. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work across multiple projects at once, with collaboration across teams, and the ability to champion the creative to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years experience as a Creative Director, concepting and executing breakthrough campaigns for high-profile brands, both from a strategic and creative perspective or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in digital-first creative marketing, consumer behavior across online channels and campaign development
  • 5+ years experience working directly within creative software (For example, Figma, Adobe suite, Microsoft products)
  • 5+ years experience working in a creative agency or in-house creative team

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 7+ years experience as a Creative Director, concepting and executing breakthrough campaigns for high-profile brands, both from a strategic and creative perspective or related work experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years experience as a Creative Director, concepting and executing breakthrough campaigns for high-profile brands, both from a strategic and creative perspective or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with storytelling/narrative structure, pacing, graphics, music, shot selection and all key aspects of audio-visual content.
  • Experience in leading visual identity strategies and developing creative marketing campaigns.
  • Experience with Microsoft's consumer-facing products and services.
  • Experience in leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to enhance creative processes and deliver innovative solutions

Integrated Marketing IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.

  • Inspire product storytelling efforts grounded in audience and cultural insights.
  • Foster ongoing relationships with agency and production partners to ensure we are optimized for best-in-class creative work.
