The Core Services team is responsible for the foundational services of Microsoft Teams serving billions of calls per day to power numerous Teams scenarios. It provides exciting opportunities for building services and systems that meet the needs of an ever-growing user base of the fastest growing product in Microsoft's history. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience building and operating large-scale cloud services.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Azure Service Fabric/Kubernetes and Linux.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Drive to improve performance, availability and supportability of systems and services.
  • Drive to increase efficiency through automation.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, testing, and DevOps of Teams systems/services ensuring security, availability and performance.
  • Design and implement observability infra to monitor system health.
  • Own the system deployment lifecycle ensuring safe deployment practices.
  • Contribute to design documents and participate in code reviews.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with diverse team members residing in various parts of the globe.
