Overview

The Office Shared Services and Experiences team is on a mission to connect the world to delightful, Ai-forward Word, Excel, and PowerPoint capabilities and experiences from any platform, device or ecosystem for the millions of people using them every day across work, life, and school. You will have the opportunity to join a product-led, fast-paced and data-driven growth culture focused on helping users discover Copilot value in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint across device and platform ecosystems, build compelling end-user first impression and in-app experiences that are app-centric but also familiar and engaging across platforms and partnering across the company to deliver transformative, AI powered value for document-centric intents for our customers. You’ll join the Office Shared Services and Experience organization and the shared Product Management organization driving shared experiences and platform capabilities across web, mobile, mac and desktop platforms and be part of the larger family of Word, Excel and PowerPoint teams delivering Office.

About the Team:
In this role, you will collaborate closely with some of the best Engineers, Designers, and User Researchers in the industry to optimize the ecosystem to lead customers to our product without friction, help build and connect users to the best Copilot capabilities that WXP has to offer regardless of a users subscription or device and be part of revolutionizing Office in our AI-forward future. About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced, data driven and customer-focused Principal Product Manager who’s passionate about building innovative, user-centric, and delightful experiences to connect people looking to do “work” (for their personal life, work life or school) across Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Experience with hypothesis-based growth experimentation, opportunity analysis and planning based on business and competitive inputs and and strong bias toward action, growth mindset and product led growth principles will be core to help reach across a rich set of partners across Office and E+D. Success in this role requires customer empathy, strong UX skills, data and customer driven product reasoning, strategic planning and the ability to synthesize complex product and business areas with a strong point of view to drive decision making and collaborate effectively with a large and matrixed set of stakeholders is fundamental to both the success and opportunity with this role. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience on end-user facing products working on complex products or experiences in large, cross-functional teams.
  • Good grasp of the Product Led Growth strategy and product development approach-from uncovering customer needs and pain points to understanding competitive landscape and strategy.
  • Experience building 1-2 products at large scale/or within a large ecosystem.

Other Requirements:


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product program management
    • OR software development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work across the triad (PM, engineering, design, research, data science, business planning) on a team Product Managers focused on help users discover and engage with intuitive experiences in the Office and transform our suite with Copilot, model forward experiences while balancing with the powerful and familiar experiences that users know and love from Office.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business, our customers, and the competitive landscape through market and customer research in order to drive clarity toward the investments with the most ROI toward clear and measurable business and customer outcomes.
  • Partner across engineering teams, design, marketing, data science and user research to develop strategies, priorities, and roadmaps with the ability to drive clear decision making and trade-offs in ambiguous environment and adapt with changing inputs and new information.
  • Lead by example, contributing to other Product Manager growth, share ideas and partner toward solutions to improve our culture and ways of working.
  • Lead team execution toward a product roadmap, with clear measures, projected impact and prioritization toward measurable outcomes leaning into new ways of working within and across teams given the AI-forward culture and transformation occurring within our products, team and world right now.
