The Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment within SME&C is at the leading edge of growth and transformation. It’s a tremendous growth engine for the company dedicated to bringing the Microsoft cloud to millions of SMB customers worldwide through scalable routes to market, growing revenue, market share and net new customers while enabling a high level of customer and partner experience.
As a SMB Business Leader Manager- ANZ, you will be accountable to the AI Business Solution business goals of Microsoft’s SMB business and be the SMB customer advocate across the organization. This requires continuous innovation and evolution of the sales execution strategy, while remaining centered on the customer. To be successful, you must have a deep understanding of the local market, customer acquisition and growth engines across core Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and Copilot products and the respective routes to market. You will drive SMB AI Business Solution strategy alignment across all sales engines through the development of a holistic sales target attainment plan and ensure continuous execution with the right level of investments to address customer needs and accelerate their digital transformation.
This opportunity will allow you to develop deep stakeholder management, business strategy acumen, and sales leadership skills, as you will lead an AI Business Solution sales organization and work with key business partners from the partner, products and services, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure teams are working together to achieve AI Business Solution targets across sales engines.
Qualifications
Minimum required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations
- OR equivalent experience
- 5+ years direct/formal, indirect/informal, and/or project team people management experience.
- Solution area experience in Modern Work (required) and Biz Apps (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Drive initiatives and capabilities needed to deliver success within scope of accountability and work to develop/mentor/coach talent internally or develop plans to attract needed talent to Microsoft as well as develop a high-performing team by hiring diverse talent, prioritizing development and leading by example.
- Proactively cultivate trusting and influential relationships with leaders/stakeholders creating cross-organizational clarity and supplement global data with local insights to optimize customer lifetime value through acquisition, retention and growth strategies leveraging scalable routes to market.
- Manage SMB segment revenue growth and net new customer adds on AI Business Solutions product offerings within local markets and prioritize go-to-market offerings and develop strategies for securing cloud customers through cloud solution provider (CSP) expansion within the local SMB market. Conduct AI Business Solutions sales performance and outlook reviews across key engines every week, month and quarter across key SMB engines, channels, and levers, surfacing both best practices and learnings as well as local gaps and needs to Global stakeholders and top deal pipe planning.
- Lead team to create joint solution area sales plans in partnership with prioritized partners relevant to AI Business Solutions products and SMB customer segment to address complex customer needs and drive quarterly revenue accountability. Coach team on owning the identification, understanding, and evaluation of partners' AI Business Solutions sales practice.
- Coach team to guide partners on AI Business Solutions sales strategy and ensure partners have capability and capacity to deliver the value proposition of the solution play. Hold team accountable for leading pipeline management meetings and unblocking deals by connecting with Microsoft resources.
- Deeply understand customer and market insights and sales targets, drive growth with the ideal mix of go-to-market (GTM) approaches, define execution strategies for subsegments of local markets and work with others to ensure sales engine and partner performance meets sales engine targets.
- Where appropriate, support realization of deals that are complex, represent significant market share and/or penetrate competitor's market share by working directly with and through local partners.
- Provide direction and implementation of connected AI Business Solutions strategies across sales engines, ensuring successful execution.
