Responsibilities

This Senior Product Marketing Manager - Cloud & AI role is ideal for a seasoned marketer who is equal parts strategist, program/portfolio manager, and product marketer. You will have the opportunity to shape Microsoft’s perception in key tech communities and influence how thousands of people experience our Cloud and AI innovations. If you have a passion for cutting-edge technology, thrive in cross-team leadership roles, and love the energy of events and community-building, this role offers a chance to make a significant impact on Microsoft’s success with the Cloud and AI Platform.

  • Build the end-to-end strategic plan for third party events across the Cloud and AI Platforms portfolio
  • Partner with integrated marketing and solution marketing teams on event prioritization, measurement, and outcomes for driving our solution play engagement.
  • Partner with PMM organizations, field organizations, and our partner teams to have a holistic view of the investments being made across the business and integration points for driving the best outcomes.
  • Engage with the Launch and Disclosure team, AR/PR, and other organizations to help drive moments, announcements, and engagement across the third party portfolio.
  • Results Orientation and Measurement: The role demands a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement. You should be skilled at setting success metrics for events and measuring against them. Experience analyzing event performance data and gathering insights (what worked, what didn’t) will help you refine the program. Being able to articulate the business impact of event activities in terms of pipeline influence, new contacts, or product usage is a plus.
  • Event Marketing Leadership: Proven ability to adopt marketing strategy and guidelines across events. Extensive experience in technology marketing or event management, with a track record of orchestrating large-scale event programs or conference engagements. You should understand how to develop an event strategy that aligns with business goals and how to execute it end-to-end.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional collaboration and communication skills are a must. This role interacts with product marketing teams, engineers, sales, field marketing, and sometimes external partners or organizers. You should be adept at building relationships and influencing without direct authority. In practice, this means you can coordinate disparate stakeholders (e.g. multiple product groups contributing to one big event) and drive them toward a unified plan.
  • Integrated Marketing & Demand Generation: Ability to work across integrated marketing channels to amplify event impact. The third-party event strategy doesn’t exist in isolation – it should plug into broader marketing campaigns and follow-ups. Experience partnering with demand gen or integrated marketing teams to drive pre-event promotions, social media engagement, and post-event nurturing of leads is important.
  • Adaptability and Creativity: Finally, this role operates in a dynamic environment – tech trends evolve, new communities emerge, and virtual/hybrid event formats continue to change the landscape. A successful candidate is innovative and adaptable, eager to try new approaches and drive towards outcomes.
