Overview

In CoreAI at Microsoft, we are developing technologies that will revolutionize how people interact with each other and their environments. The AI Platform organization builds the end-to-end Azure AI stack.

We are looking to welcome a new Senior Product Designer - CoreAI. For this role, we're looking for a creator with expertise in command line-style design as you will be designing agentic experiences for our developers. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
  • 2+ years of interaction design skills with the ability to design quality graphical user interfaces
  • 1+ years of proficiency using AI software and tools

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with generative AI and AI agents and seamlessly integrating them into the UX of existing product experiences.
  • Understanding of agentic experiences and technology, know the constraints, be willing to push the limits and apply creative solutions that result in quality user experience
  • Ability to prototype design concepts in a variety of tools, at appropriate fidelity for the task
  • Ability to produce elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, and other artifacts
  • 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

  • Investigate new technologies and keep abreast of modern techniques for building and prototyping applications.
  • Drive a variety of design sprints and jam sessions with v-team partners.
  • Work within and help evolve design processes that promote collaboration, transparency, and agility.
  • Design to high quality standards, follow processes, and deliver on schedule.
  • Stay current on design trends, technologies, and tools, and incorporate them into the design team's work as appropriate.
