We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Endpoint Security Team to develop and maintain security services to ensure that our endpoints are protected in the right way. Our solutions are focused on enabling and detecting software vulnerabilities using telemetry from multiple sources and identifying opportunities to minimize or prevent security risks. You will be building solutions to enhance our Device Health policies at enterprise scale. Successful candidates will have in-depth technical experience with Software Vulnerabilities and vulnerability scanning solutions. You should be able to combine your technical skills with enthusiasm, ingenuity, results-orientation, and ability in working with the rest of the team. A proficient candidate will have experience in a team environment, experience running enterprise scale services and platforms, technical depth in cloud platforms, agile development practices, and experience in designing & tuning telemetry.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of industry experience building, designing, managing and delivering highly available, large-scale: cloud services and/or distributed systems / services on a cloud platform.

Other Requirements:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Strategy: Drive design and architecture for core Endpoint Security services; collaborate with Microsoft Product Groups to define and prioritize backlogs.
  • Full Software Development Lifecycle Ownership: Manage all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, from planning to deployment and monitoring.
  • System Development: Design, build, and maintain distributed systems with a focus on scalability, availability, and performance.
  • Code Quality & Best Practices: Write high-quality, maintainable code; conduct code reviews; apply modern engineering practices including unit testing, refactoring, and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Service Reliability & Automation: Identify and implement automation to improve service health, manageability, telemetry, and operational reliability.
  • Incident Management & Learning Culture: Own and resolve service issues while promoting communication, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Translate business requirements into technical solutions; partner with engineering, PMs, and ops teams to optimize products and infrastructure.
