Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Datacenter IT Operations Manager-Logistics (ITOM-L), you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure)
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with end-to-end operational warehouse/supply chain/logistics experience including the use of hand trucks and other powered and non-powered lifting devices

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Data Center Operations Management M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,600 - $202,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,500 - $225,800 per year.

Responsibilities

In the IT Operations Manager – Logistics role, you will work with the Datacenter Operations Manager, Datacenter Project Managers, and Data Center Inventory & Asset Leads (DIAL) to drive and implement consistent programs across the operations and logistic verticals in your datacenter. With your team, you will enable the build out, onboarding and operationalization of new datacenter capacity, and actively participate in the incident and outage process to ensure proper root cause analysis and appropriate follow-up with affected site contacts. You will also oversee the DIALs day-to-day operations providing you a complete end-to-end perspective and accountability.

This role calls for a balance of leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, and expertise in enterprise-level operations. As a successful Datacenter IT Operations Manager - Logistics, your performance objectives include:

  • Empowering a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities
  • Leading and managing a team of high-performing individual contributors and their ongoing talent development
  • Managing and overseeing datacenter site services, logistics, and deployment
  • Collaborating and coordinating with multiple internal business groups to ensure the successful delivery of service levels
  • Analyzing production operations and initiate corrective actions to ensure operational stability
  • Initiate and establish quality standards for the Datacenter teams and manage those initiatives through to completion
