As a key leader on the Xbox Product Planning and Release team, you will drive alignment, organization, and execution across PM, Engineering, and Design to realize our goals. You’ll drive predictable planning cadences and facilitate key planning forums that bring clarity to what’s in scope, what’s at risk, and what success looks like. Your work will create the connective tissue across teams, turning strategic aspirations into coordinated, trackable execution.

You’ll partner deeply with teams across Xbox, Gaming, and Microsoft to align on dependencies, investment attribution, and outcomes that ladder to measurable results. You’ll lead consistent investment tracking, support change management, and ensure transparent communication of plans across stakeholders and leadership. Xbox is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Technical Program Manager to lead Planning and Execution across a diverse set of services and experiences.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Experience in Azure DevOps, JIRA or related software, with an understanding of system architecture, permissions management, and the creation and maintenance of dashboards and queries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on gaming platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Steam, Unreal, Unity
  • Proven experience driving large-scale, cross-team planning processes in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Facilitation and communication skills with a focus on transparency, accountability, and alignment
  • Expertise in strategic planning, investment tracking, and dependency management
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly and positively, ability to build strong partnerships within team and across organizational lines
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and influence across levels and disciplines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Tools: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drives high-quality results with minimal oversight
  • 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Align people and processes to achieve objectives
  • Drive programmatic planning, execution, and release
  • Design and evolve scalable planning processes that align with Strategic Priorities and Key Investments across Xbox and Gaming
  • Lead predictable planning rhythms and milestone-based cadences to ensure organizational clarity and momentum
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning forums, driving accountability and transparency across plans—including scope, out-of-scope, risks, and mitigations
  • Manage dependencies and ensure alignment with partner teams across Xbox, Gaming, and Microsoft, with a clear view to investment attribution and measurable impact
  • Serve as the primary communicator on planning matters, representing the team in forums across Xbox, Gaming, and partner orgs for the areas you support
  • Maintain an effective intake tracking and change management process, ensuring agility while protecting focus and accountability.
