The WWL Outbound team is seeking a creative and experienced Worldwide Learning Event Manager to lead the creation of engaging, compelling, and relevant experiences through various external events, both digital and in-person. In this role, the Worldwide Learning Event Manager will develop and lead the strategy for the Microsoft Learn and skilling presence at Microsoft Ignite and Microsoft Build, Microsoft’s flagship events. Responsibilities include coordinating the end-to-end event strategy, representing this strategy to stakeholders across multiple teams, developing and overseeing the event program budget and timelines, understanding target audiences and performance metrics, and monitoring and analyzing program results. The role will lead cross-team planning and execution, collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute strategic event plans, and incorporate feedback to optimize event offerings while preparing insights for business reviews.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent AND/OR 1+ year(s) experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, quota management, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND/
    • OR 2+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing event strategy and execution.

Additional or preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent AND 4+ years experience in learning and development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's) AND 6+ years experience in learning and development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Fundamentals, Coaching (e.g., International Coaching Federation), Project and/or Program Management Professional, archival, or a similar certificate.
  • Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses).
  • 8+ years of experience in event marketing, with a proven track record in similar roles.
  • Analytical abilities and experience with industry research.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and project management.
  • Creative and innovative mindset with a storytelling approach to marketing.

Integrated Learning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

The Worldwide Learning Event Manager are responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end event strategy for the Microsoft Learn presence at various events
  • Represent the event strategy to various stakeholders across WWL, Engineering, Global Marketing, and Cloud Marketing.
  • Develop and oversee the event specific budget and timelines.
  • Understand target audiences, monthly performance metrics, and the proficient landscape.
  • Monitor and analyze program results to identify successes and areas needing improvement.
  • Drive the development and execution of long-term event strategies, including identifying key opportunities, setting objectives, and measuring success and ensuring alignment with overall business goals
  • Lead the cross-team planning and execution across various workstreams, reviewing weekly status with stakeholders and identifying areas of risk for delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-organization stakeholders to define and execute strategic event plans, ensuring seamless integration with broader marketing strategies.
  • Incorporate qualitative and quantitative feedback to optimize event offerings.
  • Coordinate and pull Rhythm of the Business (ROB) reporting and insights for business reviews; prepare insights from various reporting sources for monthly and quarterly stakeholder reviews.
  • Work closely with extended teams to listen, identify specific business needs, and propose solutions.
