Overview

The Applied Sciences Group (ASG) is looking for a highly motivated Principal Product Manager - Applied Sciences that enjoys building products and experiences that showcase the state of the art of AI, software, hardware, and user experience.


This is a unique role requiring the ability to help manage and guide a diverse set of teams across hardware, software, design, and more. You must have a proven track record of pulling disparate teams together and have a strong comfort and familiarity with driving ambiguous domains.


You have a passion for the core user experience, with a hunger and depth to understand the technical capabilities and constraints that need to be shaped to get us there. You pay attention to the pixels, understand the costs of the service, while scoping and balancing for target customers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in shipping hardware and/or software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product or program management experience leading products from ideation through to general availability.
  • A mindset grounded in curiosity, creativity, user empathy, and a bias for action.
  • Thrive in high-ambiguity, fast-paced settings, with the agility to jump between projects.
  • Experience building and shipping complex hardware and software experiences.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our internal clients and partners to define scenarios that our team can enable with the technology we build.
    Embrace and continuously learn the mechanisms and unique opportunities and challenges of working with AI, applying this knowledge to the products you ship and in collaborations with clients and partners.
  • Envision and design novel experiences that explore the future of AI first computing and tell the story using visual media (like wireframes).
  • Create concise specs that are grounded in technical feasibility, client requirements, and user delight.
  • Work with software and hardware engineering, design, and ML research teams to deliver high-quality, user-centered products that are aligned with client expectations.
  • Evangelize projects with our partners and through the organization and create assets to showcase our work including whitepapers, videos, slide decks.
