The ImPaCT Trust Experiences and Compliance (TEC) team builds customer trust by driving transparency and privacy-first experiences across Windows, Browser, and Devices. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team focused on meeting global privacy and responsible AI standards.

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead privacy and responsible AI strategy across the product lifecycle. In this role, you’ll partner across engineering, design, and legal to ensure our products meet regulatory requirements and exceed customer expectations for trust and safety.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of combined experience in technical product management, privacy, and responsible AI.
  • Experience implementing Privacy-by-Design and Responsible AI-by-Design principles across all stages of a product’s lifecycle.
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to drive initiatives across organizations.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for end user privacy and ability to apply learnings throughout the organization.
  • Strong project management and reporting experience.
  • A passion for deeply understanding customer needs, protecting customer rights and enabling the business.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Privacy Practices or a Certified Information Privacy Technology/Manager/Professional (CIPT/CIPM/CIPP) is a plus
  • Approach all work with a growth mindset, customer obsession, and relentless curiosity.
  • Ability to identify technical needs and gaps and clearly articulate and prioritize for program stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and drive programs and initiatives by working through ambiguity.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy & roadmap for privacy‑preserving and responsible AI capabilities across Windows, Browser, and Devices experiences—translating customer needs, regulatory requirements, and Microsoft policy into clear product requirements documents, objectives and key results, and shipping plans in partnership with Engineering, Design, Research, and Data Science.
  • Embed Privacy‑by‑Design and Responsible AI‑by‑Design throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain Privacy, Responsible AI and compliance documentation in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor data protection activities and ensure that data handling, storage, and sharing practices align with privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Organize and lead training programs for product teams on data protection regulations and internal privacy protocols.
  • Manage incident response for privacy and AI safety events (detection, triage, stakeholder comms, root cause, corrective actions) and drive sustainable fixes into product and process.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams: Work closely with the legal team to review contracts and vendor agreements to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
  • Maintain critical artifacts such as Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) to ensure accurate documentation of the organization's data processing activities.
  • Stay updated on changing data protection laws and industry best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
  • Conduct regular assessments to review the privacy controls, systems, and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison with the tooling team to manage privacy tools so they help enhance data protection and privacy management within the organization.
