Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSC) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computers with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Within Cloud Supply Chain, the Spares and Warranty team is responsible for ensuring that the right spare parts are in the right place, at the right time in support of delivering global capacity requirements. Spares Supply Chain business is undergoing a supply chain transformation to optimally manage the spares and warranty from a serviceability and cost point of view.

We are seeking a goal-driven Data Analytics Manager with extensive experience in delivering data-driven decision making & self-serve analytics to optimize customer experience and business operations. In this role, you will lead and collaborate closely with high-impact Data engineers, data analysts, Business analysts and strategic customers to solve complex problems. You will communicate trends and innovative solutions to stakeholders and work cross-functionally with engineering teams, product teams, and program management to deploy business solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field AND 15+ years technical experience in data analysis and reporting, coding languages, business intelligence
  • OR Master’s degree in Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field AND 12+ years’ experience in data analysis and reporting, coding languages, business intelligence
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of product and/or program management across an impactful portfolio of projects & stakeholders.
  • 5+ years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience working in a data intensive environment and translating business needs into data requirements (experience with Microsoft Azure stack, SQL, Python, Azure Databricks, Synapse, Power BI, Fabric, Machine Learning and AI).
  • 5+ years people-management experience – build & grow teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, evolving and leading complex data platforms.
  • Worked on Business Intelligence problems and have deep knowledge of backend databases, delivering high impact reports to stakeholders, building statistical models to solve real business problems

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director, Data Analytics, who will be responsible for strategy, backlog management and collaborating with a broad cross-discipline team. We need a people manager who fosters an inclusive culture and growth mindset. You will partner effectively with teams across Microsoft to design holistic solutions requiring technical depth to balance multiple technology options.

  • Lead the analytics function for spares supply chain, driving insights that drive supply chain and operations decisions
  • Set the vision, drive prioritization, and guide technical approaches for leveraging data across all of Spares Supply Chain to identify and pursue the right business opportunities.
  • Utilize Azure Data technologies to revolutionize data analytics growth within the team, enhancing the speed, accuracy, and scalability of data analysis and insight generation.
  • Develop and manage relationships with program and business leaders across the organization to understand objectives and identify opportunities. Collaborate closely with other Microsoft Data Analytics and Data Engineering teams to deliver data-informed solutions to address the business's most essential needs.
  • Create and maintain a data analytics roadmap. Run sprint/quarter/semester planning and foster cross-team collaboration to deliver complex projects.
  • Develop and deploy Business Intelligence solutions to measure performance, identify trends, and enable data-driven decisions across the spares supply chain ecosystem. Oversee development and enhancement of analytics solution.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing analytics team focused on operational excellence and innovation.
  • Establish success measures that set a high bar of achievement for our organization and drive accountability through our team and partners
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to non-technical audiences
