Overview

Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) team is developing an Android-based platform aimed at empowering device manufacturers and software developers to deliver innovative solutions to the market. MDEP is built upon the robust foundation of the Android Open Source Project, but its distinction lies in the incorporation of Microsoft's enterprise-level security features and centralized management tools. MDEP offers deep integration with Microsoft services, delivering a standardized, secure, and efficiently manageable platform tailored specifically to meet enterprise business needs.


As a Principal PM Manager, you will have the unique chance to lead a dynamic PM team dedicated to incorporating the latest innovations from Microsoft, Artificial Intelligence, Android/AOSP, and our silicon partners. This role will be at the forefront of defining and driving efforts to enhance our MDEP platform experiences. You will collaborate closely with Microsoft Engineering teams and our OEM/ODM partners to ensure we deliver cutting-edge solutions and unparalleled user experiences. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Operating Systems, Collaboration Software, or IoT products/services.
  • 3+ years of experience in people management experience, including coaching and team development.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Android OS
    • Microsoft Teams or other Video as a Service (VaaS) providers
    • Enterprise Device Management
    • AI Frameworks and/or AI Agents.
  • Strategic Execution: Strong ability to define product strategy, translate partner insights into platform requirements, and drive cross-functional execution.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive MDEP Roadmap, SW Experiences, and new feature innovations.
  • Communicate MDEP vision and plans to Microsoft leadership, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead competitive and market assessment of new product features.
  • Translate MDEP OEM/ODM partner insights into platform requirements.
  • Drive MDEP growth in new product categories together with Microsoft Business Development.
  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of product & program managers.
  • Help team to define and improve existing development & operational processes.
