Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture.
Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.
The Fabric Data Warehouse is hiring a Principal Group Product Manager to help realize our mission of delivering the industry's most advanced, easiest to use, and fastest warehouse in the world.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people management experience.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 15+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years people management experience.
- 6+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
- 8+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 8+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g.,. competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Creates and builds a strategic agenda to identify customers’ unmet/unknown needs and market opportunities for enhancement and development of feature(s) areas.
- Drives business impact across the organization, success criteria, and performance metrics of feature(s) areas.
- Oversees teams in defining the feature(s) set and ensures partnership with Design teams.
- Acts as a subject matter expert and collaborates with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering to identify product release criteria, customer acquisition, usage, retention, and monetization strategies.
- Drives teams to evangelize the feature areas they work on with internal and external stakeholders, partners, analysts, and customers in the industry.
