Azure Core is at the forefront of innovation for Microsoft’s Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) mission. We are responsible for designing and building the foundational primitives, platforms, hardware and services that power the current and next generation of applications including Generative AI. Our work expands the Azure Cloud (AI Regions, Region Expansions, New Clouds), scales out new hardware product introduction, enables the safe, scalable, and efficient evolution of Azure and improves the foundations of platform quality for every developer and enterprise.
We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager with a bias for action to design developer tools and platforms that help accelerate Azure Cloud expansion and meet the future scale demanded of Microsoft Cloud’s hardware fleet lifecycle. You will work with a team of software engineers and drive ongoing innovation in this area meeting increasing customer demands while improving engineering velocity.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 6+ years working on developer platforms, orchestration platforms and building large-scale distributed systems.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 6+ years of experience working with graph databases and developer languages used to manage resources within cloud environments.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and management of product work for orchestration, dependency graph optimizations and developer tooling.
- You’ll drive cross-divisional teams to define success criteria and provide strategic knowledge to help them understand return on investment; you’ll also oversee team collaboration and ensure alignment on program management and release.
- You will oversee cross-divisional teams as they deliver on feature roadmap, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and hold teams accountable for leading governance programs.
- You will oversee teams driving continuous improvements by using industry expertise to teach them to validate use cases and helping them partner with other departments to collect performance metrics, and you’ll oversee teams that own customer support and ensure cross-divisional participation in direct customer engagements.
- Innovate product and program management practices across Azure services and champion the adoption of generative AI tools to streamline planning, feedback-loop synthesis, and engineering system efficiency, setting a new standard for scalable, data-informed decision-making across the platform.
