Overview
We are looking for a full-stack Software Engineer II to drive implementation of modern BI analytics platform. Our systems process petabytes of data every day that capture multi-million events per minute. We own the big data pipelines and intelligent analytics platform for all of Teams. The telemetry team's charter is to enable our feature teams to understand their customers and drive strategic investment to make customers successful.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing production-grade web applications using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals.
- Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience developing production-grade web applications using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).
- Experience building scalable, cloud-native applications (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Exposure to containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
- Experience developing data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow), with Azure cloud experience highly desirable.
- Knowledge of modern analytics architectures (e.g., data lakehouses, medallion architecture).
Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Dataflow). - Experience building APIs or services to expose data for analytics use cases.
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
- Data driven, customer focused and organized.
- Self-motivated with a solid drive for reaching across teams and organizations to make progress collaboratively.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain data analytics platform components that power the Telemetry systems for Microsoft Teams and ODSP (One Drive/Share Point) with an AI-first mindset on analytics tooling. Help stand up scalable & reliable services with great monitoring & telemetry support.
- Champion best practices, tools and processes for a data-driven, quality-focused release of Microsoft Teams as frequently as possible to our customers.
