Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO+I, the Global Project Controls (GPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.

We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help to fill the critical role of Business Administrator to support the Partner Director of GPC. You will partner closely with the Lead Executive Assistant (EA) and Business Manager to ensure the business is set up for success. The ideal canidate will have complex scheduling skills, great attention to detail, operational excellence, the ability to prioritize tasks, anticipate needs and take appropriate action, be self-motivated, and adaptable to a constantly changing environment.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years Administrative, Business Support, and/or customer service experience
  • Experience in an environment with an emphasis on scheduling meetings/events, travel management, and administration work for upper level management

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working at Microsoft, leveraging knowledge of its culture, processes, and tools to drive impact and deliver results.
  • 3+ years administrative, business support, or customer service experience in an environment with an emphasis on scheduling meetings/events, travel management, and basic administration work.
  • Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources [HR], Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Sociology) OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reviewing and managing administrative budgets (e.g., for events, morale, travel, training).

Business Support ATR-C - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $25.10 - $43.80 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $35.72 - $51.11 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Calendar & Travel Management: Manages executive calendars, meeting logistics, and travel arrangements, ensuring alignment with preferences and business priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds relationships across departments and communicates with internal and external stakeholders to support team and leadership goals.
  • Team Support & Recruitment: Assists with headcount tracking, recruitment coordination, onboarding/offboarding logistics, and serves as a key contact for new hires and vendors.
  • Event Planning & Execution: Coordinates event logistics, supports planning and promotion, and contributes to post-event follow-up and team morale.
  • Project & Process Ownership: Independently executes projects, identifies risks, and suggests process improvements to streamline operations.
  • Resource & Financial Management: Oversees inventory, processes expenses, manages vendor setup and purchase orders, and supports budget tracking.
  • Business Operations & Space Planning: Supports rhythm of business activities, maintains space assignments, and contributes to large-scale space planning initiatives.
