The Sr. Principal Project Manager role supports Vexcel through driving strategic growth, partnership development, and program delivery across public sector and law enforcement modernization initiatives. The role is pivotal in shaping business strategy, leading cross-functional teams, and managing complex government and commercial sales opportunities, with a focus on AI, digital transformation, managed services, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 7+ years experience in project management

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Business Development, Sales, or similar experience with Professional Services, experience responding to RFPs, managing, and negotiating complex government and/or commercial contracts, and problem-solving with respect to client/customer and vendor relationships

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 15+ years' experience in project management

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.

  • 8+ years financial management experience.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive strategic growth.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, procurement, and public sector contracting processes.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Ability to travel domestically 25-50% in planned scenarios.

Consulting Project Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $138,200 - $268,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $175,900 - $288,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Development
  • Shape deals and qualified opportunities, ensuring alignment with Vexcel’s strategic outlook and resource mix.
  • Manage the pipeline for RFI/RFQ/RFP solicitations, collaborating with proposal managers and internal teams to respond to opportunities.
  • Lead and manage the contracting processes across a matrixed group to ensure compliance as well as timely contract execution to support delivery and performance.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Chief Executive-level executives).
  • Prevent and manage escalated situations through strategic and targeted communications with stakeholders and deliver difficult messages as needed.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Program Executives to drive organic growth.
Contracting & Compliance
  • Manage complex contract negotiations, including NDAs, Master Agreements, Statements of Work, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to project compliance standards, including confidentiality, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and delivery teams to structure contracts and mitigate risks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, government clients, and partners.
  • Lead bi-weekly and monthly status calls, program reviews, and cross-team alignment meetings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Microsoft sellers, account teams, and partners to drive business growth.
Knowledge Management & Mentorship
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions for team members on business development, contracts, and obligation management.
  • Maintain and update business development collateral and proposal resources for the team.
