As a Principal Technical Program Manager, Copilot AI, you will operate at the crossroads of platform development, data Privacy, and governance, shaping the evolution of transformative AI solutions. You will take charge of the customer lifecycle of data & privacy, driving strategic prioritization, comprehensive documentation, and deep analysis to enhance product experiences. By championing user trust and responsible AI, you will work data across MAI, streamline processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality, to meet regulatory & compliance.

Our newly formed organization, Microsoft AI (MAI), focuses on Copilot and other consumer AI products and research. We combine world-class AI research together with top notch design and product craft. The wider team is responsible for Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research, while the Mobile Engineering team is responsible for leading and building the mobile experience of Copilot on iOS and Android, collaborating closely with our Product Management, Design and AI Research teams. This role requires a balance of technical skills and effective people collaboration skills with the expertise and knowledge on data platforms.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 3+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary projects, working with data platforms, privacy, legal and regulators.
- 3+ years experience in coordinating machine-learning-powered products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in managing projects directly involved with data and privacy with both internal and external stakeholders in a global setup.
- Technical depth in software development, data science and machine learning.
- Ability to build dashboards, execute queries, reason over large amounts of data, and speak the language of the engineers, product and compliance teams you work with.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Product feedback life cycle: Manage, coordinate and execute end-to-end data life cycle across multiple platforms, ensuring our platforms are meeting the highest standards of privacy, regulations and quality.
- Coordinate Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, and product stakeholders to align on goals, track deliverables, and communicate status updates effectively.
- Leverage Data & Insights: Collaborate with analytics teams to define key success metrics, correlate improvements to usage, and influence roadmaps based on data-driven insights.
- Foster a Growth Mindset: Mentor team members, Manage vendor resources, share best practices, and cultivate a culture where everyone feels empowered to innovate, learn, and grow.
- Apply Technical Expertise: Dive deep into product and system architecture to better understand root causes, shape solutions, and drive high-impact improvements with engineering partners
- Drive Scalable Solution: Design repeatable processes and frameworks that scale with product complexity and organizational growth, ensuring operational stability and continues improvement
