Overview
The Account Technology Strategist (ATS) plays a pivotal role in helping Western Australian Government customers achieve their digital transformation goals. This is a role where technology meets strategy — combining deep technical insight with strong business acumen to influence customer outcomes and accelerate innovation.
As an ATS, you’ll work closely with the Account Executive to define and execute a customer technology strategy that drives adoption of Microsoft’s cloud and AI solutions. You’ll be the trusted technology advisor who can connect executive priorities to Microsoft capabilities, guiding customers on their journey from vision to implementation.
You’ll lead the orchestration of Microsoft’s technical specialists, partners, and resources to deliver integrated, outcome-based solutions — while helping customers modernise, secure, and future-proof their technology landscape.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience
- 7 years + experience in solution selling, pre-sales engineering, or technology consulting with enterprise or public sector clients.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technology adoption and achieve measurable business outcomes through consultative and value-based selling.
- Technical breadth across cloud, data, or enterprise platforms, with the ability to map technology capabilities to business scenarios.
- Experience leading or influencing C-level or senior stakeholder engagements- translating complex technical topics into strategic business outcomes.
- Skilled in building and executing account plans, managing deal cycles and significant orchestration of cross-functional delivery teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft solutions (Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Security, AI) or equivalent competitor technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle, Cisco, etc.).
Preferred Experience
- Foundation in computer science, information systems, or engineering, complemented by business or sales experience.
- Experience in solution architecture, technical sales, or technology strategy development.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes in fast-paced, complex environments.

- Develop and deliver a customer technology strategy and roadmap aligned to government and departmental priorities.
- Partner with the Account Executive to drive digital transformation opportunities, achieve consumption and revenue targets, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Engage senior executives to shape strategic technology conversations and influence decision-making at the business and policy level.
- Helping customers understand the possibilities of technology to solve their business problems and unlock business challenges
- Lead virtual teams of technical specialists, partners, and architects to design solutions and win the customer decision
- Identify opportunities across Microsoft’s solution areas, including Azure, Security, Modern Work, Data, and AI, to solve complex customer challenges.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, technology advancements, and competitive offerings to position Microsoft as a trusted, forward-thinking partner.
