Overview

The Account Executive (AE) for Retail Majors Growth is an individual contributor role (IC4) responsible for owning strategic customer relationships end-to-end. This position focuses on driving digital transformation, accelerating growth, and delivering impactful business outcomes for a portfolio of high-potential retail accounts. The AE operates in a scale-driven, digitally enabled model, leveraging Microsoft’s integrated cloud solutions and partner ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in enterprise sales, with a strong track record in Cloud services and solution selling.
  • Ability to prospect, develop new business, and manage complex opportunities.
  • Skilled in engaging mid-to-senior level executives and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Technical acumen to lead value-based solution conversations.
  • Experience in the Retail industry or providing services to retailers (ideal but not mandatory).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Leadership

    • Define and own the strategic vision for each account.
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with CxO-level Technology, Digital, and Business Decision Makers.
    • Align Microsoft’s value proposition to customer priorities and challenge conventional thinking.
  • Sales Execution

    • Develop and execute account plans that drive revenue growth and consumption across Microsoft’s solution areas.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within underpenetrated or inactive accounts.
    • Lead commercial negotiations and ensure operational excellence in pipeline management.
  • Customer Transformation

    • Drive AI-led transformation and adoption of Microsoft Copilot, Security, and Cloud solutions.
    • Orchestrate resources across the extended account team, including Digital Sales Enterprise (DSE), Technical Specialists (TSPs), and partners.
  • Industry Expertise

    • Leverage knowledge of the retail industry landscape, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
    • Position Microsoft as a trusted advisor for data-driven innovation, security, and cloud migration.
