Overview

Join Microsoft’s Monetization and Business Planning (M+BP) organization for monetization strategy, pricing, and packaging across the multi-billion-dollar Microsoft Cloud portfolio. Our team is recognized for driving strategic thought leadership and business model innovation that accelerates growth.

This role sits within the Productivity & Intelligence (PI) Business Planning team, responsible for monetizing the Microsoft 365 suite, including flagship productivity apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping business model strategies for AI-enabled productivity solutions, helping build the foundation for the future digital workforce.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, law, marketing, finance, communications, business/corporate development, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in pricing, corporate strategy, technology product management, management consulting, technology product finance, or equivalent practical or functional experience, or related experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, law marketing, finance, communications, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
    • OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, product marketing, finance, sales, and others, to drive monetization strategy, pricing decisions, and packaging constructs for products for the targeted audience.
  • Propose pricing changes and discounting guidance to improve the profitability of offers and address varying market needs.
  • Partner with Research and Insights team to conduct market research and understand competitive dynamics, customer segmentation, and customer willingness to pay.
  • Work closely with marketing & sales teams to assist in driving adoption and engagement during change management initiatives tied to business model implementation.
  • Influence senior leadership with data-driven recommendations that drive business impact.
