The Customer Acceleration Team (CAT) is part of the Customer experience Engineering (CxE) division within Microsoft’s Security business. We work with customers from all over the world and all shapes and sizes, and we work directly with engineering to shape the product based on these customer insights.

We are looking for a Product Manager II to join to our team. This role will handle technical aspects of customer and partner engagements with a focus on security and AI initiatives. This role entails providing proactive guidance, active listening, dealing with ambiguity and driving technical execution.

The key Microsoft Security products driven through our team are Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Insider Risk Management (IRM). We partner closely with our Purview Product Engineering Teams to improve our products by gathering insights from the thousands of customers we work with daily.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in Data Loss Prevention
  • 2+ years of working with Security products or in the Security space

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Prefered Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of professional product management and/or software development experience (cloud related experience is a plus)
  • Aptitude for data backed decision-making.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Help customers realize the value of our products while driving usage: As a Microsoft Purview technology specialist, you will enable customers to scale deployment, adoption, and usage of our products and shape their experience with these services. You will use your technical knowledge and skills to train and enable the deployment ecosystem, driving investments to build better products for our scale motion Collaborate with internal and external communities to identify business and technical requirements and spearhead the continuous improvement of our products.
  • Product & Service Insights: Partner with engineering teams, applying your technical knowledge and skills to help guide the future direction of our products and services. You will learn from customers, partners and deployment efforts while collecting product insights and driving those insights into our Product Engineering teams to influence product roadmap and improve our products. Ensuring our customer and partner needs are understood and evangelized throughout the engineering organization as part of the development lifecycle is critical to our long-term business growth and sustainability.
  • Incubate new features and products: You will incubate new and exciting features and products with customers and ensure readiness through repeatable and scalable processes.
