Qualifications
- Master's Degree in relevant field AND 1+ year(s) related research experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in building, productizing, and evaluating AI solutions with foundation models.
Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Doctorate in relevant field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience publishing academic papers as a lead author or essential contributor.
- Experience participating in a top conference in relevant research domain.
- 4+ years of programming experience and ability to use different languages like: C#, Python, SQL, Kusto, etc.
- 2+ years of experience in statistical tests.
- 2+ years experience using data, investigating data, answering questions & solving puzzles using data, data visualization, and storytelling with data which required attention to detail.gineering experience building and shipping apps and/or large scale cloud services.
Research Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities
- Working closely with a variety of teams like partner data science, engineering, and UX teams.
- Developing ML models and solutions using classical algorithms as well as foundation models.
- Deploying these solutions into production.
- Measuring and reporting success, using A/B and shadow experiments, creating dashboards and reports as necessary.
- Using data to answer business questions like potential impact and usage.
- Customer journey, NSAT, churn, retention analysis.
- Presentation of work in the team and at Microsoft, such as during Town Halls and MLADS.
