Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is the conversational core of Microsoft Copilot —where enterprise AI meets productivity. It’s the default interface through which users summarize meetings, draft emails, generate insights from enterprise data, and coordinate with teams using natural language. As Microsoft accelerates its AI-first strategy, Chat isn’t just a feature—it’s the gateway. It’s the most visible and critical surface for AI-powered work.

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to building next-generation conversational experiences for Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. You’ll work on features and engineering systems that enable rapid iteration, continuous deployment, and resilient live-site operations. You’ll learn to automate workflows, improve release processes, and leverage AI-driven solutions to optimize performance and elevate user experience. This role is perfect for engineers eager to grow, solve complex problems, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver impactful solutions at scale.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts and cloud services (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or willingness to learn.
• Solid problem-solving skills and passion for user-centric design.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

• Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature. Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
• Assists and learn about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
• Build frameworks and tooling to enable rapid experimentation and data-driven analysis in production.
• Automate development workflows, release pipelines, and live-site operations to ensure efficiency and consistency.
• Integrate AI-driven solutions to optimize developer workflows and enhance user experience.
• With guidance, learn to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
• Assist and learn about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation
• Serve as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor systems and features for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, and executes approved steps to restore service.
• Review current developments and proactively seek new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
