We are looking for an experienced Director Technical Program Manager, Datacenter Portfolio Management with experience in technical and business effectiveness, trusted leadership and demonstrated large-scale program management success. You should have experienced industry knowledge, technical depth in the planning, data review and execution of data centers, and have executive presence to lead complex and time sensitive initiatives.

In this role, the successful candidate will partner closely with key engineering leaders to drive programs focused on transforming how we deliver data centers to our customers. These programs will be on the leading edge of innovation and will include driving pilots and other first of kind programs that shape ongoing strategy in delivering data centers efficiently and on schedule. You balance effective analytical and technical skills with the ability to influence decision makers within the CO+I leadership and execution teams spread across the rest of Azure. You will also partner closely with related teams including our design engineering, construction, networking and data center project management teams.

Required/minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ years people management experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 10 years Demonstrated experience delivering physical infrastructure across all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, contracting, construction, and commissioning
• 4+ years people management experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• Demonstrates deep understanding on key functional areas of engineering, procurement, construction, mechanical, electrical, networking, and building automation systems.
• Expertise working with large-scale data sets and analytics tools (e.g. PowerBI, PowerApps) to derive insights and make process improvements.
• Comfortable working at the Executive level within a highly matrixed organization.
• Experience driving execution with hyper-scale cloud engineering groups.
• Understanding of business and financial objectives and plans accordingly.
• Experience managing large scale construction or network infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of contract language.

Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
