Overview

Microsoft's Channel Finance team is adding a new role to focus on Global Channel Sales (GCS) within our broader Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Segment Finance team. Our team works with stakeholders across the company (Channel Partner, Solution Areas, Marketing, Business Planning) to help scale our commercial products and understand total addressable market (TAM) opportunities in the Small, Medium, & Corporate (SMC) customer segment.

The Senior Finance Manager, Azure Channel Sales, will work closely with the Channel Partner business team, providing insights and analysis to inform strategic direction and business decision‑making to support revenue growth across the MCAPS priorities. Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Global Channel Partner Sales and Small, Medium, & Enterprise Corporate (SME&C) business teams to integrate the monthly Rhythm of Business (ROB) and performance insights
  • Evaluate the health of the Commercial businesses and provide detailed insights from the partner lens, including revenue and non‑revenue Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), global target accountability, and partner‑specific performance against targets
  • Partner with the Planning lead to scope new commercial metrics, assess the evolution of existing scorecard metrics, understand data availability from partner teams, prepare and deliver targets across the areas, and collaborate with partner segment leadership to model and implement partner accountability targets

Core accountabilities for this role include:

  • Partnering with the MCAPS Business leads to support business execution, ensure accurate reporting of the segment’s impact and contribution, and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Driving the development of new analytics, including forward‑looking business analytics on go‑to‑market strategies and partner program KPIs, and fostering knowledge‑sharing with other SME&C finance leads
  • Collaborating across the partner ecosystem and engaging Field Controllers to communicate trends, support business decisions, and gather feedback to improve alignment between MCAPS Core and the field
  • Providing project‑based analytics to support various business initiatives
  • Demonstrating behaviors that reflect our culture and values


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Able to prioritize effectively and operate in evolving and changing environments.
  • Ability to partner, build trust, and communicate with and influence leaders and business partners.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, support cross‑team work, and contribute to shared outcomes.


Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
