Microsoft’s Business Planning + Monetization Team shapes the pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies for our commercial portfolio, influencing the market significantly. Within this, the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy unit steers cross-cloud monetization across Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, AI and Dynamics 365, ensuring smooth adoption of commercial strategies by the Microsoft Field, Partners, and Customers.
We seek an experienced, data-focused Business Planner to own and evolve cross-platform metrics and tools that develop strategic insights and support business case proposals. The business planner should have exceptional analytical skills, a strategic mindset that leverages data to identify opportunities, and experience in driving efficiencies and innovation to improve insights.
He/she will be responsible for partnering with the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy Team, Finance, MCAPS, and others to identify trends and opportunities leveraging existing and newly developed data sets. The business planner will also be responsible for creating processes, reporting, and dashboards that scale insights and enable cross-group collaboration and decision-making.
In addition to the above, the business planner will develop AI implementation opportunities and own creating agents and workflows that increase efficiencies across the organization. He/she will partner across Microsoft to leverage existing agents and workflows while developing use cases for the New Commerce & Commercial Strategy team.
The ideal candidate will be data-driven, influential, and proactive in leveraging data to define and highlight business strategy opportunities. The business planner should be curious and resilient when assessing tools, data, and AI or workflow opportunities.

Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications:
5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field OR 3+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field OR equivalent experience.

Experience in defining and tracking success metrics across multiple initiatives
Track record of problem solving from conceptualization to implementation

Business Planning IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
