Responsibilities
- In order to be successful in this position, this individual must effectively collaborate with both the contract manufacturer and a variety of peer groups across the organization, including, but not limited to, Factory Management, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Test Engineering, Quality, and Hardware/Software Development.
- Lead and coordinate to prevent and resolve quality excursion in end to end product life cycle.
- Lead and coordinate the flawless execution of manufacturing changes.
- Work with contract manufacturing FA team to track production product problems and timely conduct fault isolation and failure analysis.
- Perform electrical technical analyses, recommend, prepare and execute designs-of-experiments, and characterize process and design interactions.
- Stay current and versed in emerging technologies, materials, methods and manufacturing processes.
- Generate best practices guidelines and documentation to enable efficiencies in future hardware development and sustaining activities.
- Drive clear and accurate communications and recommendations to peers and senior management by distilling complex technical challenges, outlining options, and providing supporting data.
- Liaise with product design team on DFT and provide input on design change as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Principal Factory Management Engineer Director, Factory Management Engineering
- Master's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in a manufacturing environment /repair
- OR Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing / material / mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering, or related field AND 10+ years experience in a manufacturing environment /repair
- OR 12+ years of equivalent experience.
- 5+ years manager experience and 10+ years as either a hardware engineer directly contributing to product development or high-volume manufacturing product or test engineer involving consumer electronics, electro-mechanical systems manufacturing, and integration.
- Demonstrated ability in product and statistical process control, MSA/GRR, part characterization, structured problem solving, root cause and defect/failure analysis, FMEA, DOE, FEA, reliability testing, core and advanced metrology, statistical data analysis.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis, including usage of tools such as JMP or Minitab.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the
- Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct involvement in NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing operations experience.
- Candidate with design background.
- Lean and 6 sigma certificates.
