We are hiring for a Strategic Account Executive (Enterprise), responsible for the strategic relationship between Microsoft and a leading Enterprise Commercial (Strategic Account) customer. The role aims to maximise the value of our customers’ Microsoft investments, to deliver transformative outcomes in support of the customer’s mission and objectives.



Responsibilities
  • Business Relationship Owner: The Strategic AE is responsible for partnering left to right across Microsoft, to define the strategic vision and leading the transformation with the customer’s CxO level Technology, Digital and Business Decision Makers. This requires leadership skills, leading with empathy and understanding, and the ability to challenge conventional thinking.
  • Team Mobiliser and Orchestrator: The Strategic AE leads an extensive and large Microsoft and Partner eco-system to develop and implement the Strategic Account Plan. A proven leader, the Strategic AE creates clarity for team members both individually and as a collective, with a balance of empowerment and support for them to be successful.
  • Sales Leader and Operational Excellence: Own the sales strategy and execution, delivering growth against revenue, cloud consumption and customer success targets. Achieves results by understanding digital and AI transformation drivers and customer priorities, identifying new opportunities, and helping customers accelerate their move to the era of AI and the digital age. Drives operational excellence with a core focus on effective pipeline hygiene and management.
  • Sales Challenger: A ‘learn it all’ the Strategic AE continuously builds out industry and technical knowledge, brings innovative industry solutions, benchmarks and curated and appropriate references to C-level executives that enable success and drive greater efficiencies, optimisation and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Strong Communicator: The successful candidate articulates complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner and communicates with influence to senior stakeholders in Microsoft and Customers and Partners.
  • Strategic Thinker: The Strategic AE is focussed on the ‘bigger picture’ for Microsoft’s customers, has an insatiable curiosity and can quickly absorb information, and is highly conceptual and creative in problem-solving excellence.
  • Inclusive Leader: With strong interpersonal skills, the Strategic AE creates an inclusive culture within and across teams that embraces diversity and reflects Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and organisation on the planet to achieve more. The Strategic AE can easily establish trust-based relationships and gain valuable insights through collaboration and communication with the customer, colleagues, and partners.


Qualifications
  • Proven enterprise sales experience, driving strategic growth and delivering against ambitious targets.
  • Exceptional communication and executive engagement skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships at CxO level.
  • Experience orchestrating multi-solution sales and working across technical, commercial and partner teams.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and operational discipline.
  • Inclusive leadership style, with a commitment to coaching, mentoring and building diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology or related field preferred.

Role based in Melbourne
