Responsibilities
🔹 AKS Platform Management Own end-to-end management of the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Design, implement, and optimize Kubernetes clusters, networking, and containerized workloads. Monitor system health, performance, and cost efficiency, proactively addressing issues and bottlenecks. Establish best practices for CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation.
🔹 Roadmap Execution Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define and execute a forward-looking technical roadmap. Drive adoption of emerging technologies and modern cloud-native practices to future-proof the platform. Lead initiatives around automation, observability, and resilience to support long-term scalability. Translate strategic goals into actionable engineering deliverables, ensuring timely execution.
🔹 Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) Act as the DRI for critical services, ensuring rapid incident response and resolution. Own on-call responsibilities, triage issues, and coordinate cross-functional teams during outages. Maintain and improve incident management processes, including root cause analysis and postmortems. Champion reliability engineering practices to minimize downtime and enhance system resilience.
🔹 Leadership & Collaboration Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and accountability. Partner with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Product) to align platform capabilities with business needs. Advocate for engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation. Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR master's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR equivalent experience.
•4+ years of experience developing large scale distributed systems, maintenance and debugging problems under stress.
•Prior experience working with container platforms such as Dockers and Kubernetes is required
•At least 3 years experience in Microsoft Azure with a deep understanding of Azure fundamentals.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to write high quality code.
•Experience in Azure devops engineering practice is required. •An understanding of Azure security fundamentals would be highly desirable
