Responsibilities
Business Processes
- Direct reports to the CO+I Sub-Region Commissioning Lead
- Primary responsibility for assigned metro commissioning projects with secondary responsibility for other CO+I commissioning projects for the region
- Create and/or maintain best practices to identify and incorporate quality and cost-effective solutions.
- Manage the contracted Commissioning Agent assigned to Data Center construction projects in the assigned metro.
- Development of Commissioning Procedures and Standards.
- Construction site inspections to review Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) and commissioning process.
- Drive the project Commissioning process including scope and schedule.
- Travel required.
Communications
- Regularly reviews Construction Progress, QA/QC, Commissioning progress, issues, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics to report to management.
- Coordinate meetings and activities of vendor project managers including integration of lessons learned.
- Manage client representatives and partners to define and align on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Attend scheduled owner/architect/contractor (OAC) and other project meetings, and report as necessary.
- Report Project Progress on scope, schedule, and budget weekly or as required.
Accountability
- Responsible for developing, managing, and reporting on scope, schedule of the Commissioning Process for CO+I Projects.
- Manage the Commissioning process for assigned metro projects.
- Reporting of the Commissioning process to management on a regular basis.
- Work independently in support of the CO+I Program.
Strategy and Development
- Manage data center commissioning project delivery strategy in alignment with the CO+I road map strategy.
- Refine practices/policies and develop methods/techniques for driving solutions including development of commissioning procedures.
- Provides input into a long-term delivery strategy and incorporates requirements into the project execution plans.
Vendor Management and contract compliance
- Provide Vendor oversight and performance management (Scorecard driven).
- Preparation of Requests For Proposal, Project Expenditure Reports, and other project approval tools & templates.
- Relocation required to defined location. Must reside within 50 miles of metro.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
- OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
- OR 12+ years relevant technical engineering experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment
- 5+ years experience working on data center projects
- Project Management - Construction Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Able to develop and write detailed Commissioning Scripts
- Issue identification and resolution management - Commissioning Certification - OSHA 30 or equivalent qualification - NFPA-70E - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Reliability Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
