As a Software Engineer II, you will build experience services that help users acquire Microsoft 365 and get the latest and greatest. Investments emphasize security, compliance, and privacy, showcase the latest Azure technologies, and accelerate growth of Microsoft 365 enterprise business. Modernize IT Admins’ ability to manage Microsoft 365 Apps with world-class UX and Azure microservices, delivering end-to-end experiences and technologies that support high-value, customer-facing scenarios for modern serviceability and management of Microsoft 365 Apps—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Outlook. Responsibilities
  • Work with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver compelling sets of features.
  • Design and develop large scale distributed software applications, services, and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize test automation, reliability, performance, and monitoring for production applications and services.
  • Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design reviews.
  • Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our applications and services by ensuring that components are well-defined, modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.
  • Expose test coverage issues, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
  • Collaborate with mentors and leaders to gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses.
  • Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach.
  • Some teams, based on business needs, may need your participation in an on-call rotation.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience developing applications and/or experiences using React, Javascript or C#.
  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping production-quality web services or experiences.


Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
