We're seeking a Chief Developer Advisor to serve as the trusted technical voice for developers and architects in our most strategic accounts. You'll combine deep hands-on development expertise with thought leadership to win over technical decision-makers and drive AI platform adoption through authentic developer storytelling.
The Chief Developer Advisor (CDA) serves as the Dev CTO or the trusted technical voice for developers and architects in our most strategic accounts. Combining hands-on development expertise with thought leadership, the CDA drives the end-to-end Developer conversations that span across Dev and AI platform. and adoption through authentic engagement with decision making developers in accounts and strategic engagements.

Responsibilities
Be the Dev CTO for every customer relationship - Lead strategic technical engagements across pre-sales and post-sales lifecycles
Champion developers - Craft compelling technical narratives that show how our AI platform enhances developer productivity and workflows
Build technical relationships - Establish trust with lead developers, architects, and engineering managers who influence adoption decisions
Guide GTM and sales teams - Coach sales teams on technical messaging and authentic developer communication as a player-coach
Drive thought leadership - Represent MSFT at conferences, create technical content, and engage with developer communities and build authentic credibility with developers.
Shape product strategy - Gather developer feedback to influence roadmap and ensure our platform meets real-world development needs
Lead technical discovery - Uncover developer pain points and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate immediate value of our portfolio. Then turn those around to to scale
Qualifications
Who You Are
Authentic Developer - Extensive hands-on development experience with modern languages, frameworks, and tools
AI Expert - Proficient in building and integrating AI/ML models, prompt engineering, and LLM customization
Strategic Thinker - Ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes and navigate complex organizations
Technical Storyteller - Exceptional ability to translate complex AI capabilities into compelling developer use cases
Thought Leader - Proven track record of technical influence through speaking, writing, or open-source contributions, building authentic technical relationships in the industry.
Customer Champion - Proven track record of building trusted relationships with customers and driving them to technical success
Enterprise Savvy - Understanding of enterprise development challenges, security, compliance, and large-team dynamics
Continuous Learner - Commitment to staying current with rapidly evolving AI technologies and developer tools
Requirements
10+ years of software development experience with leadership in technical roles
Deep expertise in AI/ML, including hands-on model development and deployment
Strong background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture
Experience in field engineering roles
Proven ability to influence technical audiences through credibility and authentic expertise
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to both technical and executive audiences
