The Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering (CSME) organization within SCHIE is responsible for design, development, manufacturing and packaging of Microsoft's state-of-the-art computer chips, notably the Azure Cobalt. Our solutions provide sustainable strategic advantage to Microsoft and enable our customers to achieve more.

Responsibilities
Responsible for end-to-end operational management of the Penang Lab, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency across equipment handling, inventory control, logistics, and administrative processes. This role supports engineering teams by maintaining lab readiness, managing resources, and driving process improvements to enable seamless product development and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lab Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OHS/EHS standards, chemical management (DI water, IPA), and lab access protocols.
- Coordinate audits and maintain documentation for safety and regulatory compliance.
- Equipment & Infrastructure
- Oversee operation and preventive maintenance of ATE (Advantest V93k), SLT benches, and EFA (Semicaps LTP3300).
- Manage lab network infrastructure, file servers, and test data processing systems (EM360, STDF).
- Inventory & Logistics
- Handle high-value inventory (HVI) management, unit check-in/out, cycle counts, and scrapping.
- Coordinate domestic/international shipping, customs clearance, and FTZ documentation.
- Administrative & Process Management
- Maintain ticketing systems (ADO, EWR, RMA) and lab SharePoint SOPs.
- Support onboarding for lab users, including access setup and ESD compliance.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with facility teams (GWS) for utilities and infrastructure readiness.
- Engage with external vendors for procurement and managed services.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field OR equivalent experience.
- 7–10 years in lab operations, logistics, or technical program management.
- Familiarity with safety standards, inventory systems, and lab equipment handling.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with semiconductor test environments and Microsoft ticketing tools.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and FTZ operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
